You Get What You Pay For

As a buyer, what actually makes a home affordable?

Hi, I'm Tanja Odzak, Realtor with eXp Realty, helping people sell and buy homes right here in the East Bay for the last 10 years.

Affordability isn't just the price tag, it's foreseeing future costs too: repairs, property taxes, insurance, maintenance, and how a mortgage fits your overall financial picture. A rule of thumb is keeping your monthly payment under 28% of your income.

Location matters just as much. A longer commute can mean more home for your money, but higher ongoing commuting costs offset some of that. Energy efficiency matters too, a home with efficient systems might cost more upfront but save real money on utilities over time.

I'm Tanja Odzak, and I've sold over $100 million worth of homes with a decade of experience in the East Bay. The most affordable home is the one that fits your actual financial goals and lifestyle, not just the lowest price tag. Let's talk about what that looks like for you.
