Relocation: Relocating and Meeting New Folks in a New Town
Relocating somewhere you don't know a soul is genuinely one of the scarier parts of a move. Here are a few ways to meet people faster.
Hi, I'm Tanja Odzak, Realtor with eXp Realty, helping people sell and buy homes right here in the East Bay for the last 10 years.
Introducing yourself to new neighbors can feel awkward at first, but it's often the fastest way to get local insight and start building real connections. Talk to new coworkers if a job is part of the move. If you're relocating away from family, a support network of new friends and neighbors becomes even more important against loneliness.
Once you're settled, getting involved locally, volunteering, a gym, a church, a book club, or just getting out and exploring, helps you feel like a local faster. If you have kids, activities and sports help them adjust and give you a natural way to meet other parents too.
I'm Tanja Odzak, and I've sold over $100 million worth of homes with a decade of experience in the East Bay. Most people you'll meet in a new place are looking for the same connection you are.
