Home Selling: Does It Make a Difference Who You Hire?
Does it actually matter who you hire to sell your home? In California, it takes just 135 hours of pre-licensing work and a test to get a real estate license, so not every agent brings the same experience or training to the table.
Hi, I'm Tanja Odzak, Realtor with eXp Realty, helping people sell and buy homes right here in the East Bay for the last 10 years.
Two things separate one agent from another. First, experience, not just years licensed, but real transaction volume, especially recent volume, since how homes get marketed has changed dramatically. Second, unique skill sets. Mine comes from growing up in a family that built, bought, sold, managed, and remodeled real estate my whole life, but the most valuable skill I've built as an agent is digital marketing, something I invested over $25,000 in learning properly.
The numbers make the difference concrete. On one recent Oakland listing: 670 views on the MLS, 7,058 on Redfin, 7,424 on Zillow, and 115,128 views from my own digital marketing campaigns. Views translate to visits, visits translate to offers, and more offers typically means more money, or a faster sale for a home that doesn't fit the standard mold.
I'm Tanja Odzak, and I've sold over $100 million worth of homes with a decade of experience in the East Bay. This is a skill less than 1% of agents nationwide have genuinely mastered. Ask me for real numbers, I'll show you mine.
