Hi, I’m Tanja Odzak, Our East Bay Home and eXp Realty and I sell homes in Oakland, Berkeley, and the East Bay. …As we come to a close for 2022, what are the experts forecasting for next year? Will it still be a good time to sell? 🡪 A lot is going to depend on what happens with Inflation and Interest rates. Homes have been feeling that downward pressure from the rapid and seemingly relentless mortgage rate increases that we’ve had this year. Everyone is intently focused on the Federal Reserve and whether inflation is actually slowing as a result of these rate hikes.
Yet! Experts still expect buyer demand to be there… The 4th Quarter is typically the slowest of the year, but According to the experts, demand will still be there because of two things: An undersupply of homes on the market (i.e. supply and demand) which still has us in a seller’s market AND millennials are now moving into their home buying peak years. Millennials continue to be one of our largest demographics of homebuyers.
Take all predictions with a grain salt, but the bottomline here is that it’s best to call me when you’re starting to think it may be time to sell your home so that we can talk local market conditions, and discuss your needs. I track the local markets every week as well as the monthly trends.
