Holy Cow, it’s already March! So let’s talk about where the market is . . . AND where it’s headed.

First and foremost, Inflation is still showing up, but it seems to be getting under control. Inflation finally came down close to the Fed’s 2% goal, and consumer sentiment has improved. Buyers are increasingly optimistic about the prospect of a soft landing that brings with it job security, lower inflation, and lower interest rates. Even Fed Chairman Jerome Powell expressed some cautious optimism. He said, “Growth is going on at a solid pace,” and he told 60 Minutes in early February. “With the economy strong like that, we feel like we can approach the question of when to begin to reduce interest rates carefully.”
Is there a light at the end of this two-year tunnel of elevated rates? YES! Long-term consumer confidence is high and Fannie Mae’s Home Purchase Sentiment Index, increased in January to its highest point since March 2022, the peak of the market. Another bright spot: 60% of respondents said they think it’s a good time to sell.
Group Think says it’s getting better and better and that coupled with low inventory, means a competitive market for the best properties.
