3 Things to know about selling a home where someone passed. These are the 3 things that matter most, and the first one may surprise you.
Number one: disclose it, then forget about it. The longer you sit with the secret, the weirder it feels. Get it out early, state it clearly, and move on with selling the home. Buyers who are uncomfortable will disqualify themselves. That’s actually good for you.
Number two: the home’s condition and price matter more than the history. If the house is clean, properly presented, priced right and marketed well, it sells! If it’s neglected and overpriced, it doesn’t. The death isn’t the obstacle; the presentation is.
Number three: you have control over the narrative. A well-staged, beautifully photographed home tells one story. A vacant, dark, neglected home tells another. Choose the story you want buyers to see.
The real shift happens when you stop thinking of the home as a problem and start thinking of it as an asset you’re moving.
